Split Rock Resort ( https://www.facebook.com/splitrockresortpa/ ) - in Pennsylvania. Nice place , many places to stay. First trip was to the Lakeside Lodge. Its conveniently located next to the lake and lots of deer frequent the lodge. No elevator, but its not needed, only a few floors. Nice rooms and service. Second trip we stayed at the Galleria, the main hotel. Has indoor pool and bowling. Nice clean place. Restaurants on site. Very secluded.
Fernwood Resorts - ( https://www.facebook.com/FernwoodResortPoconos/ ) in Pennsylvania. Interesting layout, you stay in villa's , not in an actual hotel setting. Was clean, and it has alot of activities on site. Used to be Fernwood Hotel & Convention center when I stayed, but is just called Resorts now.
Hotel Breakers - Cedar Point Resorts - ( https://www.cedarpoint.com/places-to-stay/hotel-breakers ) - Sandusky, Ohio. Great hotel on the beach and next to the amusement park (walk there) . Loved my stay there. Room was clean, has an outside pool. Beach closed at midnight when we were there. Does need more options for food, but the park has many places to eat.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Convention Center - ( https://www.facebook.com/Home2SuitesPhilly/ ) - Room and hotel was very clean (was about a year old when we stayed) , and this hotel is very conveniently located across from the convention center. Parking garage right behind hotel, but it fills up quickly in the morning because of The Reading Terminal next door. There are more parking garages near by though. No free breakfast, but has many restaurants near by. Free wifi in lobby. The staff were pleasant.
Hanover Marriott - ( https://www.facebook.com/MarriottHanover/ ) - Whippany NJ - Very nice hotel, room was very clean and there beds are amazing (memory foam). We got free breakfast, there is free wifi in lobby, an inside pool, and free parking on site. Fire pit and fire place on premises. Has a restaurant on premise, also has many restaurants in a 5 mile radius, but nothing in walking distance. Would highly recommend.
1863 Inn of Gettysburg - ( https://www.facebook.com/1863InnofGettysburg/ ) - Pennsylvania - Nice place located inside the town of Gettysburg. Our room was clean, there is a outside pool, free wifi, and we got a free breakfast. Restaurant on site, but is also conveniently located near restaurants, many within walking distance. Free parking on site.
Sheraton Parsippany - ( https://www.facebook.com/SheratonParsippany/ ) - NJ - Nice hotel, free wifi in lobby, no free breakfast, restaurant and bar on premise but is also located near other restaurants . Free parking on site. Indoor and outdoor pool. Staff was nice, but I was there for a convention and they removed all seating and computers from lobby, never saw something like that before, people were very unhappy.
William Penn Motel - Monroeville, PA. - A small motel near Pittsburgh that i used to stay at quite often. Was always clean, cheap for that area, near many restaurants and shopping centers, and a short drive to Pittsburgh. Has been there since 1967. There was also a horror movie called Innocent Blood filmed in Pittsburgh that they used this motel to film several scenes in. UPDATE - Motel has closed.
Friar Tuck Inn & Resort - Catskill, NY. - I guess this place used to be great, but when we were there for a convention, it wasn't even close. The rooms were dirty, lots of spiders, place was dated and was not updated for a long time. The tennis court had tall grass growing through it, and there was carpet on the walls of the elevator. Plus many people who were attending the convention got food poisoning. We were there for 3 days, and it was terrible. UPDATE - Resort is closed.
